  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    Offers nutrition assistance to eligible, low-income individuals and families. The food and nutrition service works with state agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations.
    Hours & Location: Select markets and dining halls on campus including Badger Market.
    To learn more about SNAP, visit https://access.wisconsin.gov/access/. UW students can also contact The Open Seat for assistance with signing up for SNAP.

  • Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAiS; 24/7 HelpLine 608-251-4445; 2102 Fordem Ave., Madison; “if you or a loved one feels abused, threatened, scared or unsafe in an intimate partner relationship, DAiS can help you; please call our 24-Hour Help Line; if you feel your life may be in danger, please call 911.”)
  • Freedom, Inc. (608-630-8901; 2110 Luann Lane, Madison; “has advocates who help victims and survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and/or sexual assault get the help they need; these services are confidential and free; we help: Low- to no-income Black and Southeast Asian women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in the Madison area.” )
